Don Leonard’s Statement of Faith and Values for the Common Good
I believe in God’s abundance. America has been blessed with more than enough wealth and opportunity for every person to live with dignity and grow into the fullness of who they were created to be.
I believe everyone deserves the basics of a good life:healthy food, a safe place to live, quality healthcare, a strong education, and access to the tools needed to participate in the modern world.
I believe we thrive in communities where nature is protected, hard work is rewarded, neighbors look out for another, and where people can find belonging through faith, family and service.
I believe the strength of every faith community depends upon religious freedom:the freedom to practice one’s religion, another religion, or none at all.
I believe faith is strongest when it's chosen freelyand a healthy separation between church and state protects both democracy and the sacred.
I believe that the government can be a force for good when guided by compassion for the vulnerable and courage in the face of injustice.
I believe every individual, regardless of their race, religion, gender, or sexuality, possesses inherent worthand deserves to live free from humiliation, fear, discrimination, and violence.
I believe elected leaders are called not merely to hold power, but to serve the vulnerable, repair what is broken, and come together to create the conditions for all people to thrive.
Faith leaders all across Central Ohio are coming together in their personal capacity to publicly endorse Don Leonard for Ohio’s 15th Congressional District. Clergy and other individuals who are leaders in their religious community are invited to join this movement.
Don Leonard is a person of sincere faith. He is putting that faith into action by running for Congress. Once elected, he will continue to be guided by his core values. He believes that government is truly God’s work.
